The winding procedure involves transferring the yarn from its original packaging onto a rigid cone.
This operation aims to transfer the thread onto a spool more suitable for the subsequent processing steps, such as warping and weaving, whilst simultaneously measuring its quantity.
For manufacturers of yarn-dyed fabrics, this process allows the cones to be balanced with each other, in order to avoid problems related to yarn tension.
